Another FunFly and Family Bar-B-Q
We are having another Funfly day (with delicious and plentiful FREE Bar-B-Q) at the field on Sunday 5 September 2010. Starting at 10.30 with lunch about 12:00 there will be events for both fixed wing and heli pilots, so bring out that plane or heli and have a go. To help us with the catering, please tell us if you are coming (with numbers): Contact Rob Creasey on 01825 840374 or email rob@creaseyr.fsnet.co.uk

No-Fly Areas
We all need to ensure that we do nothing to jeopardise our flying field. Therefore, we would like to remind members that, as set out in the Club rules, no flying may take place in the No-Fly Areas shown on the site plan on this web-site.

Flying Site Update
We have recently been joined in the flying field by 3 horses, and have therefore reinstalled the battery and equipment for the electric fence. If you are the last to leave after a flying session, please ensure that the fence is fully replaced and the battery reconnected. Hopefully, this will keep the strip in tip top condition.

Bar-B-Q
This year's BBQ was well attended, and blessed with good weather. Everyone enjoyed the BBQ, and our thanks go to the catering team Chris and Graham for the great grub. The good weather meant we were able to hold some informal FunFly competitions (not possible for the last two years): Spot Landing and Timed Flight (person who lands nearest to 2 minutes) were closely contended. The chairman won the spot landing (with a glider) and John Cobblestone won the 2 minute comp. Full results below. A few pix have been added to the Image Gallery.

Pilot Box.
In order to keep take offs and landings on the appropriate part of the runway there will, in future, be a section of uncut grass between the new safety netting and the mown runway proper. This is an additional safety feature and all pilots are requested to stand on this unmown strip whilst flying.

Identification Of Paid Up Members.
On occasions non members or ex members have been seen flying at the site and where recognised have been spoken to appropriately. To make it easier to recognise paid up members each will be receiving with their new membership card a length of ribbon which should be attached, preferably, to either our transmitter aerials to clearly visible on the flight box. If anyone is seen flying without this identification please speak to the individual or report to a committee member.
