Forum on this website has been removed
Our website forum has recently had a lot of SPAM posted on it. In 2011 there were just a handful of real postings and over 2000 SPAM postings. The committee has decided it should therefore be removed.

Field Etiquette
The farmer has complained that the plastic chairs have been left in the main field pits area. If you take the chairs out to the field please put them back in the trailer at the end of the day.
The electric fence has been left down on occasions recently. There are times when the field is empty of stock but we don't know when the farmer will bring in new animals. So please ALWAYS replace the fence.

Heli Field Closed until Spring
This is just to remind everyone that the dedicated heli field is now closed until early 2012 and that we will all be flying and socialising together again. Flying times remain as in the club rules. We'll let you know when in 2012 we can revert to two fields.

Noise Testing – All Models
Rule 12 is straightforward. No I/C model - whether fixed wing or rotary - may be flown unless it carries a valid noise test sticker. Noise tests are particular to the airframe / engine / propeller / blade combinations and any alterations will require revalidation.
I/C helicopters will be permitted to test-fly prior to noise testing to enable correct set-up / trimming, but must be noise tested once this has been completed. Electric models do not require noise checks. The noise test requirement excludes gas turbines in line with current BMFA advice.
The message is simple. No noise sticker, no flying.
Please contact Les Kemp (01825 733776), Nigel Cole (01892 663128) or Graham Tester (01273 813732) if you have a model that needs testing.

Electric fence
Please ensure the electric fence is erected and connected to the battery at the end of ALL sessions. Although there may be no animals in the field at present the farmer may well introduce stock at any time without advance notice. The entrance gate must also be shut.

Flying Area Restrictions
For noise reasons the main flying area is now to the north of the runway. This applies to ALL I/C aircraft, but not electric or gliders. Flying in other areas should only be for take-off and landing (including practice approaches) and should route to minimise noise at the farm. The "preferred" flying area is shown on the revised site plan. At a later stage the pits etc. will be moved.
