HMFC is a BMFA affiliated club and as such ALL pilots must observe field discipline and shall comply with BMFA safety and site operating rules
Site Operating Rules
1. Flying may take place between:
09:00am – dusk, Monday – Saturday.
10.00am – dusk, Sunday. Non IC models any time. i.e. glider, electric, rubber.
On Sundays, IC fixed wing /helicopters, electric helicopters and/or electric ducted fans are only permitted to fly from 12:00 noon.
2. It is the responsibility of individual members to ensure that both the field gate and the foot gate are securely fastened at all times. Particular attention needs to be taken by the last person leaving the field after a flying session to make absolutely sure that both gates are properly fastened.
3. All vehicles must be parked in the designated areas as shown on the site plan and marked with orange markers on fence posts. Vehicles may be taken to the pits area for (un)loading only and then removed immediately to the designated parking areas. There are no exceptions to this rule.
4. The pits must be restricted to the area between the fence blue marker posts.
5. Pedestrians must keep to the hedge line between car-park and pits.
6. Each flying session must have an acting Safety Coordinator. The Safety Coordinator will be the first person to arrive at the field until such times as the Club Safety Officer or a Committee Member arrives.
7. The pegboard frequency control must be used whenever FOUR or more pilots are present. Pilots using 35 Mhz must take a channel peg and display their name-tag.
8. No pilot shall fly unsupervised unless they hold as a minimum the BMFA “A” certificate.
9. No more than 6 models (all types) may be flown at any time.

12. No IC model shall be flown unless it carries a valid noise test sticker. Noise tests are particular to the airframe /engine/ propeller combinations. Any alterations will require revalidation. The noise test will exclude gas turbines in line with current BMFA advice. I/C helicopters will be permitted to test fly prior to noise testing to enable correct setup/trimming but must be noise tested once this has been completed.
13. I/C models must be started where practicable using the starting tables and restraining devices provided.
14. Mobile phones must not be taken to the flight line.
15. Models must not be taxied between pits and flight line.

17. Clear warnings must be given for take-off/ landing/ dead stick/ overshoot etc.
18. No flying may take place in the No-Fly Areas (as indicated on the site plan). Pilots seen entering a No-Fly Area must be alerted by the observer. The safety coordinator of the day shall be informed and take any necessary disciplinary action.
19. Members will be responsible for the control and safety of any accompanying guests, children or animals. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times.
20. No litter shall be left on the site, and all debris must be located and cleared away after an accident.
21. No other activities other than flying of model aircraft may be carried out at the site by members or guests.
