Site Operating Rules
1. Flying may take place between
09:00am – dusk, Mon –Sat.
10.00am – dusk, Sun. Non IC models any time. i.e. glider, electric, rubber.
On Sundays, IC Fixed Wing / Helicopters, Electric Helicopters and / or Electric Ducted Fans are only permitted to fly from 12:00 noon.
2. Vehicles shall be parked in the designated areas as shown on the site plan and marked with orange markers on fence posts. The field gate shall be kept closed. Vehicles may be taken to the pits area for (un)loading only, and shall be immediately removed to the designated parking areas, this must be adhered to without any exceptions.
3. The pits shall be restricted to the area between the fence blue marker posts.
4. Pedestrians shall keep to the hedge line between car-park and pits.
5. Each flying session shall have an acting Safety Coordinator. The safety Coordinator shall be the first person to arrive at the field until such times as the club Safety Officer or Committee Member arrives.
6. The pegboard frequency control shall be used whenever FOUR or more pilots are present. Pilots shall take a channel peg, and display their name-tag. (Note, 2.4 GHz users must take a black peg).
7. No pilot shall fly unsupervised unless they hold as a minimum the BMFA “A” certificate.
8. No more than 6 models (all types) shall be flown at any time.
9. No more than 3 IC models shall be flown at any time,
10. Helicopters shall not be practice-hovered on the runway whilst fixed-wing aircraft are being flown.
11. No IC model shall be flown unless it carries a valid noise test sticker. Noise tests are particular to the airframe /engine/ propeller combinations. Any alterations shall require revalidation.
The Noise Test will exclude Gas Turbines in line with current BMFA advice.
IC helicopters will be permitted to test fly prior to noise testing to enable correct setup/trimming but must be noise tested once this has been completed.
